Here's how to deal with buckets: Cut some PVC to fit your hands. Slice it once lengthwise with a hacksaw. Slide it over the bucket wire. Tape it, or not.

A bucket full of sand is around 68 pounds....

All the articles say it's good to load the bones, so here's a qualified second vote for deadlifts. Just be very careful. It may be better to do Farmer's Walks with appropriate dumbbell weights....

I'm neither meathead nor woman, but here's an observation: CF is just so much different from the standard gym workout protocol, you have to be brave to do your workouts anywhere that regular folks...
