My question is why that? I would do a dedicated strength program with more "big lifts" and accessory movements. It is possible to increase strength on a deficit but not easy. You need a good team to...

Russ, don't you think it's easier for someone that is strong to get better at conditioning rather than someone who is good at conditioning to get strong?

ie a weight lifter moving to CF or a Runner...

OHP sometimes can be 8 depending on who you talk to. It sucks but you need like 5 barbells to get the most out of training.
