Re: The L4/L5 bulging disc club

If this is your 1st back injury then you will learn it will become very frustrating which I can already tell from your posts. Its hard going from 100mph to a crawling speed, and then stay there when...

Re: Actually L5/S1 bulging disc club

Do what your body tells you 1st off then go from there. Maybe take some time off from working out 1-2 weeks, and see if you can get some good recovery/healing in.

You can inadvertently aggravate...

Re: Need help with my 531 BBB

I work in squat cleans, power cleans and hang during my deload week, fairly heavy single and triples. However, the power clean seems to be my "go-to" movement. Also did some jerk variations on the...

Re: Need help with my 531 BBB

Its good you have addressed your concerns early in the game instead of mid stride, and constantly changing things then expected to see the desired outcome without a definitive plan in place.

I...

Re: Motivation - On My Own Now?

Its always fun finding that balance between your personal life, and what drives you internally, and externally.

I have always told myself despite what is thrown at you in life, you will find a way...

Re: front squat getting better while BS getting worse?

Either your 1RM is not what it used to be, or your technique/proficiency in the backsquat has changed or slacked off some causing some issues. All weightlifting variations are a perishable skill,...

Re: Prep for a 1rm back squat?

Also think of what your training has been like before. I always like taking 3-4 days off lifting heavy to deload to truly prep for a 110% effort at a 1RM.

Mine is something like this...

Row...

Re: Has anyone built a size that looks like you lift via crossfit?

I built size with Wendler 5/3/1, and continue to along with CF. Not a single chance in hell if I didn't run a strength program I could look like/lift what I do now.

Re: Strength Program or CF or Both?

I have had good luck with Wendler 5/3/1 and sort of picking my workouts from popular sites/boxes that compliment that days lift, not so much cherry picking, but almost strategizing. I kept alot of...

Re: 14.4 Tips and strategies

I just plan on going at the row on a moderate 2000m pace which is 1:48ish/500m for me and save it for everything else for the chipping. You can kill yourself off on the row and make the rest of this...

Re: 14.3 funny thinking about it

I love deadlifts, but probably wont be doing this workout for the fear of thrashing my back, and spending the next week on the foam roller to get myself to a useable condition.

I also have to PT...

Re: On-mountain nutrition for ski trip?

I spend alot of time in the backcountry snowmobiling. Cliff bars, and other bars sometimes freeze, and make them near unedible. LARA bars seem to do OK in the extreme cold temps (single digits...

Re: First month in. I have caught the CF FEVER!

Build a good strength base with the major lifts. Seek out your major weakness's, and attack them.

Have goals, both longterm and short-term, and make them quantifiable, and achievable.

Pick a...

Re: 14.1 Strategy

Did it yesterday...split it all up off the bat 8/7 for power snatches. Just got double unders down last week, and battled shin splints. 2 most feared movements in CF for me.

Happy with 186 reps. ...

Re: Off Day exercises?

Do something you enjoy aka hobby or past-time. One day off from CF, even if you set around the whole day and do absolutely nothing will not impose harm on a routine. It will help before it hurts you.
