Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks, Jason. Sure doesn't feel like I picked-up where I left off! lol I still feel weaker (I lost about 15# of bdy wt), but mostly in the upper-body. Lungs are definitely behind. I'm just glad to be back at it.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1197: "Chipper 021229"

40M/5'10"/165#

W/U: 3 rnds of - push-up, 10x; AbMat sit-up, 10x; 45# PP, 10x; single-under, 50x.

For time: HSPU, 25x; T2B, 50x; run, 800m; 75# PP, 75x; DU, 150x.

Time: 13:40.

C/D: static stretching of hamstrings and shoulders.

I was hoping to hit something closer to the 10 minute mark. Still happy with the time, considering the layoff and the amount of DOMS I was experiencing coming into this. Lungs started giving out during the DUs. Everything else felt pretty good.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

I don't know Robert, looks pretty good to me. I guess you know what is coming up after your rest day. I am very glad I finally got half decent at snatches. I know I can at least get some reps in at 165. Enjoy your rest day. I know the feeling of the come back DOMS. I can still remember coming back from doing Starting Strength and my start with OPT. It hurt a lot, it will get better.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thats a solid time through that chipper! Your muscles and joints may disagree, but it seems like there was no lay-off at all!

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks, Jason and Milt. It can be a little frustrating having to deal with a set-back. Since I'm training for GPP (as opposed to a competition), I'm not too concerned. Just enjoying each workout.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1198: "Open 12.2"

40M/5'10"/165#

W/U: double-under, 50x; erg row, 20 cal.; 24" box jump, 10x; dynamic stretching of shoulders; 45# hang power snatch, 10x.

As many reps as possible in 10 min., following in sequence: 75# snatch, 30x; 135# snatch, 30x; 165# snatch, 30x; 210# snatch, until time runs out. Total: 45 reps.

Weighted bar dip, 80x4 - 95x3 - 105x2.

OHS, 3x5 at 110-125-140.

C/D: static band stretching of shoulders.

Due to a left shoulder injury, each snatch rep was done cautiously (1 rep about every 15 seconds). Lost more strength on the weighted bar dips than I had estimated (my intent was 3x5). OHS felt okay.

WOD 1199: BP + Clean

40M/5'10"/165#

W/U: double-under, 50x; erg row, 20 cal.

BP, 3x5: 145-170-190.

Squat Clean, 7x1: 45-95-135-185-205-225-235.

C/D: skipped.

Did BS this past Monday so skipped it today. Left shoulder injury hurt a little on the 190 BP. Everything felt good on the cleans.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks, Milt! I was pretty happy with 235. Felt good. Still feel like I have a long way to do before I catch-up to where I left off. But, I'm having fun.
