Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1200: C&J + Rope Climb

40M/5'10"/165#

W/U: double-under, 50x; erg row, 20 cal.; handstand push-up, 10x; 24" box jump, 10x; clean and jerk, 3x2 at 45-95-135.

AMRAP in 10 min of: 185# clean and jerk, 2x; 15' rope climb, 1x.

Sled pull for rope climb: 8 rnds.

C/D: skipped.

Pulled a 180# sled 15' instead of a rope climb. C&J felt heavier that I had expected. Traps are on fire.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1201: "Klepto"

40M/5'10"/165#

AM

W/U: double-under, 50x; 20" box jump, 10x; 22" box jump, 10x; erg row, 20 cal.

As Rx: 23:26.

C/D: skipped.

I would like to get this down to around 20 minutes. Squat cleans were too slow. Low back started getting a little tight.

Done in your honor, Major Brodeur. RIP.

PM

W/U: skipped.

Push Press, 9x1: 45-65-135-185-205-225(fx3)

Front Squat, 3x5: 170-200-225.

C/D: skipped.

Couldn't lock out the PP at 225. My traps are still recovering from a couple days ago. FS felt good.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Ram Powerlifting Device for Increasing your bench press. Powerlifter Jeff Peshek gave this to me a couple days ago.

Never used gear like this before. Jeff said it's good for strengthening the top of the press. He should know, he has the world record for the natural Masters' division.

He said it also takes some tension off the shoulders (I have a left shoulder injury that kills me on the BP). So I thought I'd give it a try.

I did some push-ups with it the other day. I was springing right back up to a standing position! I'm not sure how much I'll use it (and it won't be to the exclusion of gear-less BPs). Just another tool, really.

Cool of Jeff to just give one to me. He's a good guy. Very humble too.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Cool, I like the rope. I just got one myself. Nice work on the Open WOD. I won't be doing it. Likely still resting for another week, and then on to rehab time !

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks! I'm really digging the rope. No more towel pull-up/sled pull subs for me!

Ut oh, rehab? That doesn't sound good. I'll have to check your log. Hope you recover soon!

WOD 1205: "Michael"

40M/5'10"/167#

W/U: double-under, 50x; good morning, 50x; dynamic ROM exercises.

As Rx: 17:20.

C/D: light walking outside.

Off PR by 1:34. 21st time doing this WOD. I haven't had a time this slow since 2008. Runs on outside road course (64F, 28% humidity, wearing RealFlex). They felt like I was moving in slow motion on rounds two and three. Low back was a little tight.

Done in your honor, Lt. McGreevy. RIP.
