That's easy to circumvent. Just require all participants to show a sign with a pre-determined message. Maybe show "CrossFit 12.5 C2B/Th" and say the phrase before starting the workout.

I doubt ANY video from last year would have that on it.

EDIT: Plus, as others point out, the benefit to anyone doing this has to be small. Few are in worse shape than they were a year ago.

Some people who attempt to do that will screen themselves out due to dumb mistakes like not changing the date stamp, or having a big Crossfit Open 2011 banner in the background. The rest forget that CFHQ has all the videos submitted last year and can easily compare anyone who posts the same score. (And posting the *exact* same score would be a computer-catchable red flag to do exactly that.)

Besides which, the number of people (a) posting video instead of being validated by an affiliate who are (b) able to cheat without getting caught but still (c) score well enough to actually affect the overall rankings ... is going to be vanishingly small.

Something sketchy on the leader board....the number one spot for 12.5 is occupied by Cesar Ganoza. He did 186 reps. That means he got through the round of 21 and 18 thrusters into the round of 24. If you look at his stats, it has to be a mistake.

It's crazy how tight the women's race is compared to the men's. After last week, Kristan had three 1st place finishes and one 10th, versus Rich's two 1st place finishes, one 2nd and a 34th. However, Rich's lead over 2nd place Sean Thompson is actually bigger than Kristan's lead over Annie in 5th.

Thats not the first little glitch like this in the Open this year.

There was a guy who, at 140 lbs, posted a 523 for 12.3. More than everyone except RFJ. It was later corrected to a more reasonable score.

I just looked and his score has been taken down, a guy with a 7:51 Fran is not likely to get that many reps in this WoD....

Was the score a video submission or an affiliate validated score? Could be an error on entry and then corrected/withdrawn when the validation process is applied.

Also shows through in last years games leader board - Rich won by almost 100pts (over 100pts if you take out Bridges) while there are 4 ladies within ~100pts of Annie.

Looks like this has been resubmitted as an 86.

It will be interesting to see how Rob Orlando does this week. If he were to do the same as 11.6, he would currently be third in the NE region for 12.5 and 5th overall in the NE based on the current posted scores. This should be a walk in the park for Orlando...
