Re: RJF's Workout Log

Nice work the past couplle of days! THats a lot of TGUs! And a heavy thruster to work between MUs, impressive!

I see you didnt register for the Open this year? I have seen you doing the WoDs, and putting up some great scores! Do you think you have a run at regionals in you? I think if you wanted, you would have a shot!

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks, Jason! Due to a combination of stubbornness and stupidity, I've never had my shoulder checked out by a doctor. All the symptoms point to a SLAP tear. Although i've had it for a number of years now, it seems to have gotten a little better. It's functional. I just have difficulty with BP and (less so) dips. I don't notice it as much with overhead work, though it is very sore after several pull-ups.

That's nice of you to say, Milt. I like how the competitive aspect of CF inspires people (myself included) to push a little harder. At least for now, I'm not interested in using CF as a sport. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do well anyway (esp. having to do multiple WODs in a day).

Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1212: "CF Games Open 12.5" AKA "CF Games Open 11.6"

41M/5'10"/167#

W/U: thruster, 6x3 at 45-55-65-75-85-95.

As Rx: 113 reps.

C/D: skipped.

New PR by 13 reps. Had absolutely no interest in working out tonight. So I'm happy with the results.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Thanks, Milt! I was happy to set a new PR. My indifference to working out last night put me in a relaxed state. Maybe that helped.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Ouch on the shoulder. I know when I first started about three months in my shoulders got into some trouble. A year on CFFB strengthening my shoulder girdle seemed to help and all the discomfort was long gone. Not sure I had a SLAP tear or not but it was something not right. I still can't get my arms where they should be able to go three weeks later. This will be a long road back for sure.

Strong work dead lifting last night. I see you skipped out on Diane. Any particular reason or just not feeling it ? Although I am sure you have done it enough over the years.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

Looks like you are playing it a lot smarter than me, as far as taking care of your shoulder injury. It's difficult to tell for sure, but I believe supplementing with L-glutamine has aided in my healing process. You may want to experiment with a trial.

I put off doing "Diane" until today. It was the 12th time doing her.

Re: RJF's Workout Log

WOD 1214: OHS + "Diane"

41M/5'10"/167#

W/U: OHS, 10x3 at 45-55-65-75-85-95-105-115-125-135.

OHS, 5x3: 145-155-165-175-185 (new 3RM PR by 10#).

"Diane," as Rx: 2:48 (off PR by 0:22).

C/D: skipped.

Developed a side cramp in the middle of the first set of DLs during "Diane." Otherwise, I may have seen a new PR.
