I was goofing around with this idea. Here's what I did:

It's an interesting pull-up modification. The sticking point is definitely 3/4 to the top of the rep. A weighted pull-up has a sticking point 1/3-1/2 of the way through the rep. This might be an interesting way to work pull-ups to make it easier to get through that sticking point when fatigued.
