Donate/Give blood.

Just wondering if Im to donate blood (450ml of it) can this affect my training? Is it advisable to not train that day or to only do light work and no wods? Can training resume the next day? What about donating after a workout, or is that not advisable due to body being in recovery mode?

What is everybody's experience with CF and donating blood?

PS, I follow CFFB program.

Re: Donate/Give blood.

Seems like there should not be any issues...

And timing...tuesday right after gym, that would give me ~ 48h to recover from it till next gym time on thursday.

Speaking from experience, do not train on the day after a blood donation.

I did this once, right after starting CrossFit and stopped the wod because my heart beat way too fast.

The next day may vary for each person. I still rest on the day after. Three to four days you should be fine; just pace yourself on the next workout to make sure you are safe.

Conversely, if I donate platelets, I am fine the next day.
