I'm organizing a strength challenge. One event is a truck push. There are two categories, male and female and all competitors (various bodyweights ie male body weights: 155 - 267 lbs) will push the same truck for the same distance. Any ideas, formulas, equations etc. to help determine the superior competitor according to their bodyweight-"pound for pound". I planned on using the Wilks Formula for most of the events however since speed will be the main factor for the truck push this particular formula will not work.

Todd-
If folks are going a set distance and you are recoding the time to completion you could divide the body weight by the time. Lower scores being better? |

If you want to apply The Wilks formula to Power, I think you could just apply the coefficient to 1/t.

Brian, Could you please draft a sample. Lets say we have a male competitor: Bodyweight = 265 lbs Wilks Coefficient = .5747 Truck = 3000 lbs Distance Pushed = 100 feet Time to push = 27 seconds Thanks again in advance for any help folks! Todd. |
