Re: The Outlaw Way

Squatting today wasn't too bad! A little easier than Monday. I definitely am feeling the rest day though. The volume on the past 2 Wednesday's has been intense.

Re: The Outlaw Way

My 7x5's went well. Had normal workout at 6pm. 7x5's were at 5pm. I did manage to hit my max C&J after all that squatting (no PR but did not expect one) which was good. WOD was rough with lots of KB's, deads and dbl unders. Need some rest...

Re: The Outlaw Way

I managed to find a Power Snatch PR after the squats. And tied my C+J as well. Can't wait to see what happens after we are finished with Smolov and have a deload week.

Re: The Outlaw Way

I'm waiting till Monday because it's easier to program M-Sa instead of Tu-M. Need to get my sleep in order.

Re: The Outlaw Way

I would agree to just wait until Monday. You will then get one week of Smolov, a deload week, and then we will be going into the 12 week hatch squat cycle. Make sure your diet and nutrition are dialed in and be ready to spend some serious time on a lot of volume on Wednesday's.

Re: The Outlaw Way

Well, I probably won't be doing the Hatch Squat cycle. Prep for a meet.

I just want to see how bad Smolov is.

Re: The Outlaw Way

The Smolov Jr isn't too bad. It's certainly not great but it isn't awful. The original smolov looks like sheer hell.

I do notice some of the Russian PLers squat ATG and some just parallel.

Re: The Outlaw Way

I am only into the second week but it is not awful. Trying to do it on top on normal programming is tough. I have felt like I cannot eat enough...I feel like a bottomless pit. I may miss the 8x4 this week...too much family stuff going on and I need a break. Will hit the 10x3's for sure then all 4 days next week.

The sessions are tough but not impossible. Taking 10 pounds off your max as a starting point is smart...definitely makes the first week bearable.

We will be doing the 12 week Hatch cycle as well. I am excited to see where my squats (as well as cleans and snatches too) end up after all of this extra work.
