Re: A Bears Tale

I like those short 'fight for your life' workouts Scott. Much harder than anything that you can pace, IMO. I know when I push myself close to 100% because my tongue gets numb and I get a metal taste in my mouth. I only get that during those type of workouts.

Its funny that you didn't mention the squat out of the clean as being a hard part. That would definitely be the most taxing part for me.

Haha, three pints, wish I could stop there once a session starts, it was uncountable for me in the end. You will have to get Cathy's brother a new cake if you ate it already Nik.

Definately had a messed up weird tasting mouth and throat, was almost holding it for 5 mins afterwards, putting a lot more of these types of workouts in over next few weeks.

As for what part was most taxing, after the first round it was everything, not particularly getting out of the squat, the c2b's were probably more taxing at the end.

Yeah easy PR so have to really try and put a big one out there, my 1rm is 85k so 70-75k would be good.

If there was more beer you would of been tempted then

Looking back I was at 1.40 after the 15's so probably went off to fast, best place to make those mistakes is in training still.
I have to focus on the other end on the spectrum: longer efforts

Just did a longer one today and it bit me hard half-way through.

Let's attack our weaknesses Scott

Definately mate, got to do it right now also, before the dreaded low volume week before the comp, I find that so hard.

Yes Sprint and Swing for definate, going to time it but concentrate more on creating as much pain as possible.

Not yet Matt, I will have a look. Richard Vanmeerbeek competed in the Southern Euro Qualifier and posted the 2nd best time and he's posted a video of it on he's log , definately worth a look now you've tried it out, hang cleans, swings and t2b as I remember.

Re: A Bears Tale

6 April 2010

Overhead Squats
5-5-5-5-5

60kpr - 65kpr - 65k x 3 - 60k - 60k

Still dissappointed, just kept losing my balance, not sure whether to grip real wide or a hand width in from the outside edge of the bar, wobbly at both.

30 GHD's
Toes to bar practice.

5 rounds for time:
Sprint 100m (50 out 50 back)
15 Swings 1.5 pood - 4.21

Did not stop, got minor lung burn , not as bad as yesterday. All swings unbroken and no delays in transitions.
