Re: Slow-mo Clean form check

Thanks everyone for the feedback all good stuff!

I had a few cleans as part of a WOD on Monday, although I wasn't feeling the best I thought I'd try and put some advise my coach and you had given me.

I focused on a better tensioned setup, chest forward/shoulders back and more hip drive. Still room for improvement!

From what I can see I might be starting the second pull a little early, (standing up too soon) it seems I'm up on my toes early.

From memory there were a few in there that felt good, I think it was when I made good contact with the legs/bar.

I'm not sure about the legs in the catch position, it was a lighter weight so I got away with not having to squat that much.

Thanks.

Re: Slow-mo Clean form check

You're not just starting the second pull too early, You are on the balls of your feet during the entire lift!!

At the start, you should be pushing from the middle of the feet.

Re: Slow-mo Clean form check

When you say "during a WOD," do you mean these are touch and go-ish reps in the middle of a metcon?

Olympic lifting for time is really not the best way to gauge technique.

For instance, I'm guessing you're way forward throughout the entire lift because you are rushing things to get the work done faster.

Re: Slow-mo Clean form check

Thanks guys,

Yes it was during a WOD, I was taking it easy though - not a fan of rushing through oly lifts for sake of time vs form.

I'll post another once I can get in the open gym and spend some time perfecting.

Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it.
