Worth $100???

Folks, I've only bought my oly weights used, and saw this for sale and really don't know if it's worth $100. It seems to be an older model, but if it's sturdy enough for me to kip, I might jump on it. Opinions?

If you didn't, and it was in my area, I would.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. In fact, if there were two ... I'd buy both.

Re: Worth $100???

Thanks Matt and Tom.... I contacted the guy and I think I'm going to pick it up tonight....unless I get some big red flags from fellow CFrs. We don't have a squat rack, just a bench that extends... so this will be big for our garage gym.

Re: Worth $100???

Mine looks almost exactly like this. It's a little over 8' tall, which means I can't get chest-high pull-ups with it under the 9' ceilings in my dining room where it lives (my wife is awesome.) It has little tabs welded to it on the bottom so it can be screwed to the floor, which is imperative for aggressive kips, due to the rack being relatively narrow. Not sure if these tabs are an add-on or not, but something you might want to look for.

(Edit: I got mine for free, but I'd easily pay $200 or more for it if I had to.)

Re: Worth $100???

Definitely worth it. If it isn't sturdy enough, you could probably do a little welding to beef it up.

Re: Worth $100???

I sold a bolt together home quality body solid rack (with the trap bar pullup bar) for $100. If that is welded together, it's a steal, if not, then it's a good price.

Re: Worth $100???

We had these in our weight room in High school. FANTASTIC!!! I want one! we had some really BIG guys doing pull ups on that with no problem, not to mention the heavy loads that 280+lb linemen would put on them day in and day out. I never saw a failure! Buy it!

Re: Worth $100???

Picked up the rack Friday... what a behemoth. I love it. I've got it bolted to the garage. I'll clean up and get some pictures for you guys. VERY sturdy. I only wish it was taller so the pullup bar was higher, but I can kip, so it still rocks. Now, to learn how to kip properly.....

BTW, it is all welded together, the thinnest steel is 1/8th inch on the tabs that mount to the floor. The rest is uber-beefy and extremely solid.
