Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Looks like a shoulder injury and am trying not to get discouraged with it. Last tune this happened I gained 20lbs and of course was even more discouraged when lost all my gains due to rest and recovery. Ugh

Hang in there! I know how discouraging it can get. I was injured in the middle of May which litarally almost killed me and I have just recently been cleared to be able to workout again. I am obviously not where I was, fitness wise, and i have to take things slow. Try to be patient and keep your head up...the human body is amazing. You'll do fine.

My shoulder hurt to the point where I needed to back off of anything that was hard on the shoulder, so I did some heavy squatting 2 or 3 times a week going on 6 weeks now. Let me tell you it was a blessing in disguise. My strength numbers all went up. Point is there's no reason to be completely unproductive while resting a hurt shoulder. Do what you can

Just making my way back from a shoulder injury, I basically squatted 4-5 days a week...
I do oly lifts, when I came back I struggled with snatch, due to balance, but power cleaned a PB first session!!!
Hang in there OP, just keep doing work, and it'll come together
