Re: GIANT SS Mt Bike for 300 obo good deal?

You know that that bike is a free ride/downhill style mountain bike, right? Depending on what type of riding you want to do, it may not be the choice for you.

Being that its built for free riding, downhilling, its most likely a heavy bike. It wouldn't be very comfortable on longer rides on the road.

Searching, I found a few on craigslist. All in the $500-700 range. $300 sounds like a good deal, but I'd want to check it out in person first. Inspect the frame closely for any cracks.

Re: GIANT SS Mt Bike for 300 obo good deal?

I plan on doing some basic trails in Fullerton. I dont think I would be doing many if any road trips on the bike. Does that still mean that it might not be the bike for me?

Ill have a look at CL as well.

Thanks

On a side note, I saw a guy riding a fixed speed bike down the CRAZIEST hill in Anaheim Hills / Orange. Im not sure if he knew exactly what he was doing yet, but he was trying as hard as possible to keep his speed in check through skidding the back tire out. Very ballzy.

Since you said you are wanting a bike for trail riding this might work. The riding position will be a bit different than a regular mountain bike. I'd want to test ride it to make sure it fits your size. If its in good shape the $300 asking price sounds good, but I'd still try and talk them down.
