Re: 6 weeks of Starting Strength: 01/01-02/12

Finished the gallon for the day early today, that's 2.75 gal so far. I'm surprised I don't have any side effects other than feeling full. Two of the other guys have a bit of the runs but they aren't sure if it's flu or milk.

Re: 6 weeks of Starting Strength: 01/01-02/12

Finished my gallon today.

MF has a bad case of the flu and is out for a few days.
LP was feeling sick, might have the same flu.
LC didn't show today.

Things are well with me though and I'm loving the regular squats. Let's hope the others feel better and will continue to participate.

Another gallon down.

SS is OK but I'm already missing my CF workouts. Training my crew is becoming like sitting plate of food in front of a hungry fat person. I want to eat it!

I hurt my foot at KM a few days ago, so that's set me back a little bit. It's feeling good now though, so I might get started tomorrow!

I understand about missing the CF workouts. But once you start seeing the gains you get with the program its worth it. Today I just squatted my old 1RM for 3 sets of 5 reps. Im still stoked about it!

Did my first SS today! Today was tougher than I expected, but only time will tell.

Squat: 3x5x245
Bench: 3x5x155
Deadlift:1x5x305

Just like seeing an old friend again.

Re: 6 weeks of Starting Strength: 01/01-02/12

Results from week one:
AS LP MF LC
Gal 6.8 + 5 + 4.5 + 2 +
Wt 180 4 204 2 171 0 185 1
Fat% 12 -1 22 3 9 -1 12 -1

(copy/paste doesn't work so well from excel)

To summarize I gained 4lb this week and lost 1% fat. SWEET!

The other guys didn't have the same results but LP missed two workouts, MF and LC each missed one, and none of them drank as much milk (as noted by Gal above). I'm looking forward to the next five weeks now!

Nicely done coach! Maybe that's why you were able to Parkour all over the place this morning...you're a lot lighter!

Re: 6 weeks of Starting Strength: 01/01-02/12

You guys should post some before and after pics along with the weight gain and BF numbers.

I am recovering from ACL and Meniscus surgery and want to start the SS program as soon as I am allowed to lift weights again. I especially want to start my squat with the proper technique, I never went low enough before. I have to rebuild my leg muscles anyway, so I figure a good SS program will get me back into the swing of things.
