Snatch Jump Forward

Hey coaches,

Here are some snatches. For me, when the weight gets to 200+, I jump forward in the landing. I still snatch the weight, but the jump forward is atrocious. Generally don't have this problem below 200#, but past that, it's gross.

Also, I have a 265# OHS and a 265# snatch balance. I feel like I should be capable of a bigger snatch than this (could be wrong?).

Anything you got for me is greatly appreciated.

Weights in video go: 155#, 175#, 190#, 205#, 215#, 225# miss, 225# miss, 225# success.

No nothing about snatch tech but from the vid looks like your feet are leaving the ground and coming back down whilst the bar is still in front of you. I guess as the weight gets heavier you are more likely to move in the air than the bar is.

In one of the frames (11 secs) your feet are back on the ground the bar is in line with your knee caps about shoulder/face height. So at heavier weight when you are pulling the bar you are actually pulling yourself forwards.

So I guess the bar needs to be further along/higher(/) in the move so the weight is moving back rather than up at that point????

Yeah, you're just rushing the third pull a little bit. Nothing major by any means, just trying to jump a split second before the bar is at your hips and you're all the way in the power position.

It looks like you're overpulling a bit and letting bar get way out in front of your chest after hip contact. Though it's hard to tell from the angle but it looks like it could start from the moment you bring the bar off the floor. It appears the first movement off the floor is directly vertical. The last failed attempt it appears your first movement is forward just a tiny bit (maybe I'm seeing things though). To me it looked like you aren't sweeping the bar in enough and banging it sending it away

I do not like it when the lifter leans back on their heels so much to the degree that their toes come off the floor. I generally see them end up too much on their toes and jumping forward.

However your torso angle is pretty consistent.

Keep weight on midfoot.
