Thank you guys so much for the analysis and tips. I was definitely anxious on that lift.

What percentage of 1 rep max should i work up too or with on the hang cleans?

I'd drill a lot with pvc or the bar until the technique is consistant.

When you do start adding weight, I'd think you could go to an actual max for the hang version irrespective of what your full lift is, since technique is what's keeping you back and not strength.

Practicing the hang snatch is definitely a good recommendation. I think some of the tips you're getting here are really detail oriented, and you'll get to that, but dropping under the bar is the main reason you didn't make this lift. The hang snatch will help with that. You've got to feel comfortable dropping into that squat, i.e., you know where you're going, and you know how it's going to feel when you hit the bottom.

Was there an early arm pull? Yes. Did you rush the pull? Probably. But even with these faults, dang - you got some height on that bar. It was up there. So the real reason you failed the lift was that you didn't pull under the bar into that squat position, ready to catch the bar when it came down from that height. A comfortable squat would have made the lift and overcome the other minor faults.
