Re: Squat Clean/Snatch/Front Squat Critique

Good to see someone dressed appropriately for the task at hand! Nice socks!

Initial set up looks good from this angle. A bit of an early arm bend on both the clean and the snatch. Bar stays nice and close - see how it pulls up on the hem of the shorts? That's a good sign. Quick elbows on the clean, good job. Landing stance on the clean is a bit forward of the pull, so check with a side angle view to see if you are extending fully or swinging the bar.

Thanks for the quick reply Lincoln. I will post a side view as well next time. My first time recording myself, so i was just getting used.

How do i prevent the arm bend? I saw it after i watched it again. Any tips?

Try 3-position lifts. It's a progression that starts with the arms in the correct position and you build from that. One rep from the hang, one from the knees, then one rep from the floor.

On some of the reps you are coming up on your toes at the top, this might indicate your weight is getting forward on your feet (hard to tell, the bottom is where it is more important, your torso looks pretty vertical to me). If it's just because of an attempt to be powerful then it's fine, but you definitely want to be weighted toward the heels.

Re: Squat Clean/Snatch/Front Squat Critique

thanks Graeme

I think with that set I was focusing on exploding out of the hole,w hich could be why i lift on my toes. You can also see the bar oscilate off of my shoulders which would be where the momemtum gets transfered.

Re: Squat Clean/Snatch/Front Squat Critique

Drive the weight back using your heels more. Getting forward on your toes during both squats. But it looks strong and ready to go up in weight!
