Any suggestions? My budget is $400 and I do not have any olympic weights or bar right now. I was considering 10kg York bumper plates(they are larger than the standard metal olympic) from Ironmind and metal plates for additional weight.

I'll be giving them a call pretty soon. If you do buy from them I'd be really interested in hearing how it works out for you. cheers

Don't forget about Gill Athletics.

Here's a similar discussion where Karl Geissler offers the 20% discount:

I believe BSOlympic is still offering a deal to crossfitters, free shipping on some items, I got a great pair of 15kg bumpers and a totally Midwest Power Bar for $259 combined -- then you can find some metal plates from a yard sale or Pennysaver...BSOlympic did right by me!

Also check out www.chapmanpower.com

I am not sure if they can help you with your buget. I know we have the good stuff at our school and a bar and set of Reds cost over $1000. We only buy Eleiko anymore, but all of it has laster over 10 years with heavy use. I have a buddy who bought the Chapman stuff 3 years ago and is very happy with it. We have also used Mavrik with good success, but once again I am not sure if any of that fit into your buget.

Tim, when did you order from BS? Did you order arrive yet? I'm still waiting on an order from them that I placed on Jan 19 for a pair of 25 lb bumpers.

I bought the Mrs. a $200 ladies oly bar from BSO. Scott was very responsive to my emails. If your concerned about your order, I would contact BSoly. directly.

I am now thinking I need a new bar for the Mr. :-)

I did Paul. Haven't heard back :uhoh:. Gotta say I'm a little disappointed thus far considering he first said delivery should be 7 days. When I contacted him two weeks after my order he said they were backordered but should be there in 3-5 days. That was over a week ago. I wish I was notified of the backorder when I placed my order.
