Murph times

I did a search but could not find any murph times. I did it with my gf today and it took us 1 hour and 20 mins. I thought I was gonna die!!! The first mile run was ok. Did it as a warm up so we took it slow. Went into the pullups pretty hard core. Used various grips. Started to feel the fatigue setting in. The pushups nearly killed me. As did the squats but that is because I alternated between squats, lunges, and step ups. Squats alone are too boring. So the last mile was the nail in the coffin. I made it about 1/2 mile and had to walk the rest. I was pretty whipped.

Re: Murph times

Take a look at the comments under the WOD for an idea of times that people take. One thing you're missing (I missed it the first time I did 'Murph', and it took me over an hour, too) is that you can partition the pull-ups, push-ups and squats. A common way to do it is 'Cindy' style, 5/10/15, but you can partition them any way you like. Doing them straight through adds in a lot of recovery time since you're continually working yourself to failure.

Finishing at all 'as Rx'd' the first time you do it is an awesome accomplishment in itself, though! Have you looked at the BrandX scaling under the 'start here' tab on the main page?

Re: Murph times

Also, if you look at the Murph instructions, it says to wear body armor or 40# vest. Obviously if you are just starting out, I would not recommend this.
A good place to look at times would be www.logsitall.com
I think the last time I did Murph with body armor, it was around 44 minutes.

Re: Murph times

this link shows all saved murph "as rx'd" times - listed with body weight and age/gender info - hope that helps!

if you log into the site you can create age and gender groupings for finer details.

Re: Murph times

Angie style is much more difficult than Cindy style, in my opinion.

Angie Style: ~55 min
Cindy Style: ~37 min

No vest for me, though. I'm a sissy.
