Need Rowing Machine

I'm looking for deals on concept 2 rowers or ghd's. They don't have to be brand new...but preferably not a POS. I'd gladly pay shipping costs for the right deal. If you have any info please let me know.
Thanks.

Seriously, if you're new you may not know this, but a C2 is one of the most sought-after pieces of equipment in the Crossfit stable. People obsess over finding these used at a good deal on here.

It may take you some time, or you migh find one tomorrow, but rejoice when you do find the deal you're looking for on a C2!

Re: Need Rowing Machine

Yup, I tried to find a reasonable used one in good shape for about 6 months before I gave in and bought a new one. At the end of the day, unless you just get real lucky, in my opinion, you are not going to save enough money for it to be worth going used. My looking found that to get a newish model in decent shape that you would really only be saving $100 to $200 over a brand new one. A big reason for this is that C2 ships them for $40. Unless you happen to find a used one locally, you get killed on shipping cost. Just my experience.

Re: Need Rowing Machine

You can get one that has been ridden hard. I speak from personal experiance when I tell you that they are EASY to rebuild. I picked up a Model C two months ago for $120. I was missing the front legs and needed a new LCD on the PM4, new shock cord, cog, foot pads, straps, chain, handle, etc. I think I spent about $150 in parts (legs were $40 and the LCD was $30). Put in about 2 hrs to fix it and I have a very good working Model C for under $300.

The folks at Concept are awesome to deal with and replacement parts for the regular wear items are really inexpensive.

Re: Need Rowing Machine

This doesn't save you a ton of money, but some folks might find that this option makes sense for them. I think deals like this are offered at most (all?) of the CRASH-B qualifiers. Both links wfs.

From one of the qualifiers:
http://nwergomania.com/index.php/ergs-for-sale.html

From the finals:

Your best bet is to go to www.row2k.com (WFS) and go to the classifieds section and look for ergs. Another option is to look at regattas during the winter season and see if there are any indoor regattas in your area between now and March - sometimes the ergs used are club ergs - however, sometimes the regatta will be sponsored by Concept 2 and they will be available after the regatta for a discounted price (usually $700-750 after being used for 5 hours). C.R.A.S.H. B's - the largest indoor regatta in the world that takes place in Boston sells their ergs - however, you need to pick them up in person and they go pretty quickly.

Re: Need Rowing Machine

I have seen a few on Craigslist recently. I would also check there periodically.

I can't seem to find any used GHD's though.
