Re: Killer Whale

6 December 2011

London Throwdown WOD 3

For time:
  • 100 Double Unders
  • 30 Knee to elbows - Pull ups
  • 30 Hang Squat Snatch 35k
  • 100 Double Unders - 17:02 Rx

Horrible! KTE Pull-ups just didn't work and the hang snatches I ballsed up... I wasn't loose enough before starting, so I found it hard to do the early reps... Think I knew after the first few KTEPU's that I was off the pace and came off the gas a bit as a result! Double unders are always a bit of a lottery for me - some good sets and some shockers where I couldn't get going.

Anything that involves and sort of jump into a squat is really hurting my right knee atm... Need to keep it pushed out I think!

HSPU's with AbMat - 4/5/3/4

Felt ok tonight and got some good tips from Scottie... A real goat for me so pleased to get a few half decent reps. Didn't do a 5th set as my left shoulder started hurting again.

Still feeling a bit 'broken' atm!

Yeah man, gonna bash out HSPU's in at the end of most WOD's for a few weeks... Probs alternate between those and underhand dead hang PU's to keep the guns looking good!

Re: Killer Whale

HAHAHA you guys are great! Sound like me and Brady some times.

Matt That was a tough workout. Do you do mobility work on the hips? Sticl a ball in the back of you knee(knee pit) and stretch out the knee. Ask Scott, we do alot of it. Knees always go out when ever bending. When i say go out, I mean OVER the foot.

I do a long mob session before I start any real work in the box... Certainly more than most... Ask Scott about my 'special stretch'! Always had tight hips though and I think the many, many miles running I did whilst Ironmanning resulted in some scar tissue in there... I'll keep stretching/rolling them out and hopefully I'll see some improvements. Will try the ball in the knee... Cheers.

Cool, good to know someone else is doing mobility. It take almost the same dedication as a workout does. It gets boring, painful, and some times I want to throw up. But it is worth all of it.
