Jesse Emers GPP Log

I'm starting a new log because for the past year, in my opinion, my workouts have not been living up to "getting beast". My career has taken first priority in this stage of my life and it's taking up most of my time. To be honest, it sucks. I haven't had the equipment to keep up with lifting. My strength and strength endurance has gone down quite a bit. My job has me working 10-12 hour days and spending most of my nights in hotels at this point. I would much rather spend my time and effort in the gym. I know that there will be a payoff in the end with a comfortable schedule and the gym will then again take priority.

My main goal at this stage of my life is just to remain fit in the sense of GPP. I will be trying to build my strength back up. Hopefully I will have the equipment to do that. Time and equipment are all I need but they have been lacking lately. Its all good.

500m row
5 deadlift (275lb)
15 pushups
= 9:20

*Deads were slow. My back has been funny the past couple weeks, I think its stress related as trying to strengthen it again. Traveling for the rest of the week, I'll get a workout or 2 in on the road.

I'll never give up Nik. I know you guys can relate to me when I say that I need to workout because it makes me feel proper in all other parts of life. Once things get settled down, I'm looking forward to lifting heavy again.

Outside of hotel in St. Louis-

5 rounds for time:
300m run
20 double unders
10 burpees
= 11:42

*Worked 12 hours and flew 8.1 hours yesterday in the jet. It was busy work the whole time but fun.

The effort you put into still getting workouts done, wherever you are or whatever the situation is beastly in itself. When you get comfortable and have more time I look forward to seeing full beast mode get switched on.

Home for a couple days

6 Rounds for Time:
10 hang power cleans (95lb)
10 front squats (95lb)
10 push press (95lb)
= 9:56

*More barbell acclimatization work. It was fun and a bit painful. Trying to find a good place outside to hang my rings for Nate tomorrow or Saturday.

Last RX Nate was about 15.5 rounds. Hopefully I'll do better, but I haven't done MUs in a while (or many pullups).
