2 quick questions on towel pullups

1. Can/should these be done kipping? The demo video shows strict towel pullups, but since kipping is the default for bar pullups, I wondered if this applied to the towel version as well.

2. Does anyone else struggle with gripping the towel? I believe I have decent grip strength, as I can do 30 bar pullups and deadlift 340 x 4 without a problem...but I can't hold onto a towel for more than 1-2 reps without slipping off. Maybe I'm fooling myself and need to work on developing my grip more?

Thank you!

That's arguable. I don't agree.

Yep, they show no mercy, that's the beauty of them! Just suck it up and keep working on them.

Thank you!

Re: 2 quick questions on towel pullups

If it's a metcon, sure go with the kipping, though you won't be able to string them together very well. The grip will get at least as good a workout with the kipping and it will keep you moving through your workout to keep the intensity up.

If it's strength work go strict.
